Return of the Hydra
Straton the Abstinent
Bloodbeard‘s lieutenant was a cold-hearted and calculating man, whose indifference to pleasure of any kind was legendary and earned him the nickname ‘Straton the Abstinent’. Many people even suspected the ascetic wizard to be a lich or some other undead creature, not only because of his inhuman looks and behaviour, but also because of his mastery of necromantic rituals. Straton and his son Theron provided the pirate crew with brains and magic, giving them the upper hand in a part of the world where magic was scarce. Rumours say Bloodbeard killed his lieutenant in prison, for he was the only one knowing more about the whereabouts of his treasure.
The survivors of the Hunter found all three of Straton’s Hydra Riddles, but discovered the treasure was a trap, set to ensnare a new body for Straton and Bloodbeard. Theron and his five companions defeated the spectres of Bloodbeard and his crew and thus foiled Straton’s plan of reincarnation. They took a great deal of the cursed gold with them, including the vampiric dagger that holds Stratons essence, and who knows what will become of it?
