Return of the Hydra
The ‘Three Seas’ are in fact one big sea, with two narrow passages, one controlled by Shairra, the other by Kern, the capital of the Kernian Empire. Situated in the southern part of the Midlands, the Three Seas form a natural barrier between countries like Kern, Shairra, Erymia or Ademorra. Because the fastest way of transport is by sea, the Three Seas are vital for trade in the Midlands. Sadly enough, the fastest way of transport does not mean the safest, for the many islands in the Three Seas are filled with pirates, hungry Ogres and Cyclopses and even worse. The sea itself harbors many monsters: Sirens, the so-called Killer Crabs, Rainbow Magpies, Dragon Turtles and, most dangerous of all, the Kraken.
The stronghold of the most imfamous pirate of all, Bloodbeard, was also situated in the Three Seas, on the so-called Pirate Isles. Somewhat to the south-west of the Pirate Isles is Hydra Peninsula, a place filled with monsters, dark magic and cannibals. So, a wise captain stays as close as possible to the northern shores, avoiding the dangerous southern parts of the Three Seas.
